Never underestimate the small things

We live in a world that is all about the big picture. Grandiose designs are popular. Everyone wants to change the world. The difficulty is that of the few who do, often we wish they did not, or at least had done better work.

We live in an age of instant satisfaction, where merely getting a degree makes you qualified. Except it really does not; you are only able to begin to grow. It is an age of impatience; everything needs to happen now. The rush to get something done leads to mistakes being made. Mistakes like approving a drug that causes birth defects. Mistakes like security holes that allow personal information to be stolen. Mistakes like a rushed aircraft design that is unstable in landing and has poorly designed doors. Each mistake is actual history.
