The first Crown oil and natural gas public offering of the new fiscal year was held on April 7, 2026. Companies bid on 87 parcels across the Estevan, Lloydminster, Kindersley and Swift Current areas, covering a total of 20,724.022 hectares. The Estevan area brought in the highest revenue, totaling $5,949,771, followed by Lloydminster with $4,531,088. The Kindersley area received $2,267,478, while Swift Current brought in $87,609.
Whispering Hills Resources Ltd. made the highest single bid of $1,606,426 for an exploration licence on a 6,859.206 hectare parcel in the Kindersley Area, west of Eatonia. Millennium Land Ltd. placed two identical bids of $1,223,809 for leases in the Lloydminster area, each for properties that are nearly identical in size. Tundra Oil & Gas Limited submitted the highest dollars-per-hectare bid at $12,150 for a 32.222 hectare lease in the Estevan area.
These leases are offered with five-year terms and issued for oil or natural gas production. Exploration licences are typically issued for two to five years in less developed areas. Conditions like market factors and technological aspects influence public offering activities. The next offering will take place on June 2, 2026.
