Obituary - COWLING, Margaret Ruth

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Margaret Cowling on Thursday, May 21, 2026 at the age of 79 years. She was predeceased by her parents Hector and Mary Ross and brother-in-law Dave Simpson. Margaret is lovingly remembered by her husband of 42 years, Steve; stepson Bill (Joy) Cowling; sisters Beth Simpson and Elvira (Gerry) Krause; as well as many nieces, cousins, family and friends. Margaret grew up on a farm near Gibbs, SK. She went to Sprayville School in Gibbs finishing her education in William Derby High in Strasbourg. Margaret worked for the Saskatchewan Government in Regina for many years, retiring in Strasbourg. Margaret was outgoing and loved being with people, which made her a natural for volunteering at the Strasbourg Seniors Home. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Roughrider and Blue Jay games, as well as curling. She was especially loyal to the Roughriders, never passing up an opportunity to buy Rider souvenirs. The family would like to thank the medical staff at the Pasqua and Watrous hospitals for the thoughtful and loving care she received. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice in her memory.
