Public Submission

April 9, 2024

It is with heavy hearts that the family announces the passing of our dear wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Eileen passed away peacefully at the Regina General Hospital in Regina, SK on Sunday, March 31, 2024 at the age of 93 years. Eileen will be fondly remembered by her sons Lenard (Kristyn and family, and Natelia) and Warren and Corinne (Nicholas and Regan); daughter Debra Faller; brother Aden Hubick; sisters Joyce Peters and Dianne (Reg) Marchuk; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She was predeceased by her husband Warren (Floyd) Faller; father John Hubick and mother Anne Hubick (Gessner); sister Adena Handley; brothers-in-law Jim Peters and Arnold Faller; sisters-in-law Sharon Hubick (Hill), Inez Mattern (Johnny), Grace Benjamin (Charlie), and Livia Groskopf (Leon). Eileen grew up in Strasbourg and always maintained close connections to those in her community, family and friends. Eileen was very dedicated to her family and friends. She enjoyed cooking and hosting dinner parties, dancing, playing cards, crafts, gardening, visiting with friends, music and classic movies, and participating at her churches. In her retirement Eileen and Floyd made several trips to Nashville and enjoyed dancing with their many friends in round and square- dancing clubs. Eileen was a strong person of faith and a very kind and giving person. She was always concerned about others going through challenges and would often reach out to help. She loved her mom, dad, sisters and brothers, and nephews and nieces and kept in close touch as much as she could. Her family and her grandkids were very special to her, and she talked to them regularly and was always interested in what they were doing and making sure they were okay. The last year was difficult for her, when she had lost her husband Floyd. But she maintained a very positive attitude even when she became ill and she was very polite and appreciative of what others did for her. The family would like to thank the Doctors at the Regina General Hospital, and all of the staff at the Elmview Special Care Home. Eileen was provided with excellent care throughout her journey and the family is very thankful for all the support we received. We would also like to thank the many friends and family who came to visit Eileen or to send their thoughts and prayers. It made her days brighter to see familiar faces and to know that so many people were thinking of her. A Funeral Service will be held at a date to be determined this spring/summer in Regina, SK. In lieu of flowers, if friends so desire, donations are greatly accepted to Canadian Lutheran World Relief at www.clwr.org. Family and friends are invited to leave tributes at www.reginafuneralhome.ca. Arrangements entrusted to Regina Funeral Home and Cemetery (306) 789-8850.
