Obituary - Leona Margaret Finch (nee Okell)
March 2, 1939 – May 3, 2026
Born in the humble surroundings of a small farm home, Leona has nothing but fond memories of that place she called home for seventeen years. She took the first five years of her education in a one room country school. The remaining seven years of her education were at Semans, SK.
A few days after her graduation at age 17, she began work with SaskPower in Regina. A short time later, she met the love of her life, Claude Finch, and her favorite pastime dancing continued. After a two-year courtship they were married in May 1958. Our lovely Leona was a lady in the true sense of the word.
Leona was predeceased by her husband Claude Finch; parents Syd and Evelyn Okell; and grandson Marshal. She is survived by daughter Wendy (Ray); son Dean (Cyndi); daughter Joanne (Andrew); 9 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A poem written by the late Claude Finch for Leona:
We remember the kindness in her eyes
Her concern for those in need.
Her quick and ever-friendly smile,
Her fair unselfish creed.
Will not forget our dearest friend
Our gentle loving mother
We cling to her gift of lasting love
and cherish it like none other.
At Leona's request there will be no funeral. A private family celebration will be held on a future date. Online messages of condolence may be left at www.paragonfuneralservices.com.
