Public Submission

Chris passed away peacefully on January 26th in his 93rd year, after several weeks in hospital. Predeceased by his brother, Karl Oehler, and his loving wife, Phyllis, Chris will be deeply missed by his daughter Alisa Scherle (Darcy), son Kurt Oehler (Angela), grandsons Cameron and Mitchell Oehler, sister Bertha Paproski, brothers-in-law Bud Serfling, Ken (Edna) Serfling, sister-in-law Leona (Elwyn) Beeler, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Formerly from Strasbourg, Chris and his wife, Phyllis, moved to College Park I in Regina 12 years ago. A dedicated community builder and volunteer, Chris fully immersed himself in the physical, spiritual, and recreational activities there continuing to volunteer and offer his time and support for the betterment of others.

Dad worked tirelessly and with pride as a member of various councils and committees in Strasbourg. He was a charter member of the Strasbourg Lions Club and received his 65-year pin in 2022.

Throughout his various professions, which included farming, credit union manager, notary public, real estate and development, income tax preparation, and cashier for Rinehold Hubick Auctioneer, Dad made many friends. He continued to make new friends after moving to Regina while being reacquainted with friends who moved to College Park or who he socialized with when attending dances at the Winnipeg Seniors Centre.

Thank you to the staff and residents of College Park I, as well as the doctors and nurses of Unit 5E of the Regina General Hospital, for their friendship, care and compassion.

A Memorial Service will take place in the spring, with details to follow. To leave messages of condolence, please visit www.conleyfuneralhome.ca
