Obituary - Sharon Purdue

66 years

Public Submission

With broken hearts, our family announces the passing of Sharon Ann Purdue on December 19, 2023, at the age of 66 years, with family by her side. Sharon was predeceased by her husband Lyle (1989), father John (2016), father-in-law Ken (1996), brother-in-law Barry (2018), mother-in-law Julia (2023) and sister-in- law Marcella (2023). Left to cherish memories are her partner Gerald 'Joe' Scott; son Sean (Dawn) and children; Seth, Gracie and Tatum; son Derek and child Damon; Mother Katherine Ens, sister Yvonne (Michael) Bourassa and sister Marlene Moore. Sharon is also survived by sister-in-law Judy Purdue, brother- in-law Dennis (Julie) Purdue, brother-in-law Keith (JoAnn) Purdue, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Sharon was kind, caring, selfless and witty. After being widowed at a young age, Sharon was left to raise two young boys on her own. Despite the obvious challenges that came with this, she made sure her boys had everything they needed and many things they didn't. They had many adventures together, including trips to the Rocky Mountains, the Black Hills and California. After her boys graduated, Sharon found a new love in her life, beginning a relationship with Joe in the year 2000. Sharon and Joe discovered their love of travel, exploring destinations in Canada, the US and Australia. In the winter months, they enjoyed spending time in Yuma, where they made many memories and strong friendships.

The family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the Regina General, Pasqua and Wynyard Hospitals. A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Those so wishing can make a donation in Sharon's memory to RAPCAP2 in Raymore or the Canadian Cancer Society.
