Public notice is hereby given under The Planning and Development Act, 2007 that the Council of the Resort Village of Kannata Valley (the Village) intends to amend Zoning Bylaw No. 05-2024. 

Intent 

The Zoning Bylaw is being amended to regulate the maximum size of accessory buildings including private garages, carports, and other similar structures. Currently, these structures have a maximum building height, but the area is only limited by minimum setbacks to site lines and the maximum site coverage of the combined areas of the principal and accessory buildings. 

The proposed maximum size for accessory buildings is an area of 83.6 sq. M (900 sq. ft). 

Affected Land 

All land within the Village boundaries. 

Public Inspection 

The proposed bylaw amendment is posted online on the Village website or may be viewed in person at the Village office during regular office hours Tuesday and Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. 

Public Hearing 

Council will hold a Public Hearing on Wednesday, September 17th at 6:00pm at the Village Office to hear any person or group that wants to comment on the proposed amendment. Please contact the Village Office to make arrangements to call into the meeting if you are not able to appear in person. Council will also consider written comments that are received before the hearing sent by email to office@kannatavalley.ca
