PUBLIC NOTICE

Public Notice is hereby given that the Council of the RM of Lumsden No. 189 intends to adopt a bylaw under The Planning and Development Act, 2007 to amend Bylaw No. 07-2012, known as the Zoning Bylaw. 

INTENT & REASON

Bylaw No. 2026-04 proposes to amend the Zoning District Map by rezoning Parcel E, Plan 64R42722 Ext 0 from the A – Agriculture District to the C2 – Highway Commercial District as shown outlined in a red line on the map below to accommodate a proposed commercial development.  The proposed development includes:

  • Demolition of an existing residence;
  • Construction of an office building;
  • Construction of a cold storage, agriculturally-related warehouse; and
  • Storage of recreational vehicles.

AFFECTED LAND 

The affected land is legally described as Parcel E, Plan 64R42722, Ext 0 in the SW 36-19-21 W2.  The affected land is physically adjacent to Exit C on Highway 11. 

PUBLIC INSPECTION

Any person may inspect the bylaw online at www.rmoflumsden.ca under “Public Notices” or in person at the Lumsden Municipal Office, located at 300 James Street North in Lumsden, between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM (open through the noon hour) from Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. Copies are available at cost.   

PUBLIC HEARING

Council will hold a Public Hearing on Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 7:30 PM at the Lumsden Municipal Office located at 300 James Street North in Lumsden.  You may attend virtually, via Zoom (meeting 291 261 3627).  Council will consider submissions, written or verbal, regarding the proposed bylaw, which are delivered to the municipal office before the Hearing.  Council will also consider written or verbal comments received at the Hearing.  For further information, please contact the undersigned at 306-731-2404 or rm189@sasktel.net
