The Canada-U.S.-Mexico Agreement, which was signed in 2020, is now up for review, and given Donald Trump as US president, that is frankly troubling. In terms of trade, Trump has basically taken a bull in the China shop approach, tromping over trade partners, tossing tariffs about willy nilly and basically being a trade irritant with no clear idea of why he does any of it. One thing we should be aware of, though, is that Trump has a Texas-sized ego where he likes to put forward that everything is on him – that he is the grand architect of all things. While that is largely a mirage, it is his modus operandi.
