Woman charged after cocaine seized during traffic stop

On July 29, 2026, at approximately 12:50 a.m., Indian Head RCMP stopped an SUV on Highway #1 near Indian Head for a driver's license, registration, and sobriety check.

As a result of investigation, officers determined there were likely illicit drugs in the vehicle. The driver was arrested.

During a search, officers located and seized 10.25 kilograms of cocaine and a sum of cash.

33-year-old Shaunte Nichol from Windermere, BC, has been charged with:

• one count, possession of property obtained by crime less than or equal $5,000, Section 354(1)(a), Criminal Code; and
• one count, possession for the purpose of trafficking - cocaine, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

Nichol appeared in court in Fort Qu'Appelle on July 30, 2026
