Lumsden & District Heritage Home: A Pillar of Care and Community
The Lumsden & District Heritage Home (LDHH) is a cornerstone of compassionate long-term care in Lumsden, Saskatchewan.
May 21, 2025
This independently owned, nationally accredited 30-bed facility, affiliated with the Saskatchewan Health Authority, has been providing 24-hour professional nursing and supportive care since its establishment in 1987. LDHH is dedicated to fostering a safe, home-like environment for its permanent residents, guided by best practices and a commitment to service excellence.
Beyond its core mission of quality care, LDHH offers an Adult Day Support Program and contributes to the Senior Meal Program, enhancing the lives of seniors in the community. In June 2024, the Home transitioned to an open-based membership governance model, empowering community members to shape its future through voting rights and active participation. LDHH also welcomes volunteers, whose contributions—ranging from music and crafts to pet therapy and outings—enrich residents’ lives.
