No Room - minister message

Long ago and far away a young couple were making their way to Bethlehem to be counted in the census.

They travelled long days and this was tiring days for Mary as she was with child and was nearing her time of delivery. Joseph had many concerns as he led the donkey that carried Mary on his back. As they arrived at Bethlehem, the inn was very busy and congested with people there to be counted. When inquiring for a room for the night, the inn-keeper gave the disheartening news to the young couple “there was no room.” Where are they to go?

Joseph knew Mary was about to give birth, with all this noise and confusion, how would there be any peace for this beautiful event. The inn-keeper, God Bless him, suggested the stable, it was dry, warm and peaceful and they would be surrounded by the sleeping animals.

And so, on that special night with a bright shining star over the stable, a tiny baby came into the world to bring new life to the people. To teach love, kindness, faith, respect and goodness. Do we have room? Do we have room to visit a shut in, do we have room to share a meal with someone who is hungry, do we have room to recognize the less fortunate? We may not always realize where or when it is that we are to make room. May God direct us in our journey of life to find those places and share the gifts God has given us. God’s Blessings and Merry Christmas
