
Rm of Lumsden no. 189 - Bylaw Amendment
Public Notice
Public notice is hereby given that the Council of the RM of Lumsden No. 189 intends to adopt a bylaw under The Planning and Development Act, 2007 to amend Bylaw No. 07-2012, known as the Zoning Bylaw.
INTENT
Bylaw No. 2025-12 proposes to amend Section 12.3.1(1) the Residential Development Standards of the R2 – Medium Density Valley Residential District by reducing the Site Size – minimum from 2,024 m2 to 1,450 m2.
REASON
The reason for the amendment is to accommodate a proposed utility subdivision in the Organized Hamlet of Deer Valley which proposes to subdivide land from an existing residential parcel which will reduce the site size below the current standards. The site size must be reduced to accommodate the subdivision.
AFFCTED LAND
Lands within the R2 – Medium Density Valley Residential District and the R3 – Planned Valley Residential District (By Agreement) may be affected by the proposed amendment.
PUBLIC INSPECTION
Any person may inspect the bylaw online at www.rmoflumsden.ca under “Public Notices” or in person at the Lumsden Municipal Office, located at 300 James Street North in Lumsden, between 9:00 AM and 4:00 PM (open through the noon hour) from Monday to Friday, excluding statutory holidays. Copies are available at cost.
PUBLIC HEARING
Council will hold a public hearing on Thursday, October 23, 2025, at 8:00 PM in person in Council Chambers at the Lumsden Municipal Office located at 300 James Street North in Lumsden, or virtually via Zoom, to receive submissions, written or verbal, on the proposed bylaw. Council will also consider written comments received at the hearing or delivered to the municipal office before the hearing.
