RM of McKillop No. 220 - Zoning Bylaw Amendment

Public Notice is hereby given that the Council of the Rural Municipality (RM) of McKillop No. 220 intends to consider adoption of a bylaw under The Planning and Development Act, 2007; a proposed amendment to Bylaw No. 376/2019, known as the Zoning Bylaw (ZB).
INTENT: The proposed amendment would: add in definition for shipping containers and regulations allow them as an accessory use and during construction.
AFFECTED LAND: all lands within the RM will be affected.
REASON: The proposed amendment is being sought to clarify the use of shipping containers. Council wants to clarify that they are to be used as accessory structures. Introduce regulation for shipping containers to abide by setbacks, not be used for signs or billboards, and properly maintained.
PUBLIC INSPECTION: Any person may inspect the bylaws at the RM of McKillop No. 220 office during regular office hours, excluding statutory holidays. Digital copy of the proposed bylaws are available here for public viewing: https://rmofmckillop220.com/p/local-notices . Draft copies of the proposed bylaws are also available from the RM office; hard copies at cost. The RM office is located at 103 Ashley Street, Bulyea, SK (S0G 0L0; PO Box 220).
PUBLIC HEARING: Council will hold a public hearing in council chambers on May 19, 2026, beginning at 10:15 AM, to hear any person or group that wants to comment on the proposed bylaws. The deadline for receipt of written comments and requests for representation at the meeting must be received by the RM office by May 15, 2026.
